'Network reset' and restart (windows settings)Ĭonnect via ethernet and try ipconfig /release/renewĬhecked online for an updated driver but unable to find one on the realtek site Uninstalled the adapter through device manager, restarted laptop and tried to reconnect (device automatically re-enabled on restart) Windows 10 built in network adapter troubleshooterĭisable ipv6 on the adapter and try to reconnect 'Forget this network' and re sign in to the network Tried turning network adapter off and on again Ran TDSS killer, malware bytes, kaspersky anti-virus scans (no threats found) Here's some of the things I've tried (not necessarily in order): I'm pretty sure its a problem with my laptop rather than the network, as the network works fine on my phone, and the laptop can't connect to my phone hotspot either. This time however, no matter what I've tried I keep getting 'Unable to connect to network' when trying to join the wifi network (worth noting that ethernet adapter is fine). Usually just turning the wifi adapter off/on works, and it not a quick restart always fixes it. This isn't something entirely new, especially if I have put the computer to sleep with VPN on, it seems to conflict on wake. I had put the computer to sleep and a couple hours later woke it up and the laptop couldn't connect to the wifi. ![]() ![]() I have an ASUS gaming laptop which was working fine all day yesterday.
